Flowers of Past Lovers confronts the abuse Chitima Harcup wants to ignore. The work challenges a romanticised view of love which obscures the pain. With vibrant yet grotesque colours and a deliberately messy hand, the work is a visceral yet honest take on the trauma that ensued.
The work is accompanied by three poems reflecting different relationships. These poems add a layer of vulnerability, offering an intimate look into Chitima Harcup's Past relationships.
